Second Grade

Mrs. Mayhew was born and raised in Manassas, Virginia. Growing up she always admired her fourth grade teacher and loved to “play” school with the neighborhood kids. Which explains why, she attended and graduated from Lynchburg College with a degree in Elementary Education. Mrs. Mayhew has had the joy of teaching fourth graders at Tomahawk Elementary school since 2005 and now is excited to work with second graders. Outside of school she enjoys spending time with her husband, Andy and two beautiful daughters, Jillian and Hadley. Some of her favorite things to do are relax, read a good book, go to the beach/pool, shop, and spend time with family and friends. Mrs. Mayhew looks forward to each and every year of teaching, growing, and having fun with her students.

Mrs. Glass is a WV native, having graduated from Bluefield State College with a degree in English and Child Psychology.  This is her 6 year in public education and her 1st to join the Tomahawk Family.  Mrs. Glass moved to Lynchburg when she married her husband Chris 22 years ago.  Together they have 3 amazing children, Landen, Greyson and Rachel.  She loves to read, having two favorite places to do so - the beach or her couch! Living on a farm lets her have lots of cool animals around, including a duck and some chickens!  Fun Fact:  Mrs. Glass has danced and taught dance for over 40 years and continues to do so! 2nd grade is the BEST grade!

Ms. Stanley  was born and raised in Lynchburg, VA. She went through Tomahawk Elementary and Brookville Middle and High School. She now lives in Appomattox with her husband and two children. She enjoys spending her free time with family, being outdoors, and getting lost in a great book.

Mrs. Adams grew up in a small town in Maine. She moved to Lynchburg in 2015 to attend Liberty University where she graduated in 2019 with a degree in Elementary Education. Mrs. Adams began her teaching career in Amherst County where she taught 2nd grade for 5 years, one of those years as a virtual teacher. She also taught English in China for a summer! This is her first year as a 2nd grade teacher at Tomahawk and she is so excited to be a Bee! Mrs. Adams loves to read, shop, go for walks on the local trails, and spend time with her husband, Ben, and family!
