Mrs. Dolan was born and raised here in Lynchburg, Virginia. In fact, she went to elementary school right here at Tomahawk Elementary School. She received her Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education from Longwood University in 2010 and graduated with her Masters of Educational Leadership from Lynchburg College in 2018. Mrs. Dolan began her teaching journey in San Carlos, Costa Rica where she taught ESL to 2nd-8th graders. She then went to Snow Hill, North Carolina, where she finished up the year for a teacher in 4th grade. She is now in her 11th year teaching at Tomahawk Elementary School and could not be more excited! Mrs. Dolan loves to workout, go running, and go to the beach. She also loves to spend time with her husband, 3 year old son- Paxton, and 6 month old daughter- Eleanor. She is so excited to be back with the kids and looks forward to another year in 2nd grade!
Mrs. Pittman was born in Lynchburg, VA and attended Tomahawk when she was younger while her mom taught there. She graduated from Brookville High School and received her Bachelors and Masters degrees from Virginia Tech. Her Bachelor's degree is in Early Childhood Education and her Master's is in Curriculum and Instruction. This is her 18th year of teaching. Of those years, five were in third grade and the rest have been in second grade. She is married to Kevin and has two daughters, Kylie and Karleigh. She also has a Labradoodle named Riggles and a Goldendoodle named Ace. She enjoys volleyball, reading, bike riding, watching her girls compete in T&T gymnastics and volleyball, and spending time with family, especially at the beach!
Mrs. Mayhew was born and raised in Manassas, Virginia. Growing up she always admired her fourth grade teacher and loved to “play” school with the neighborhood kids. Which explains why, she attended and graduated from Lynchburg College with a degree in Elementary Education. Mrs. Mayhew has had the joy of teaching fourth graders at Tomahawk Elementary school since 2005 and now is excited to work with second graders. Outside of school she enjoys spending time with her husband, Andy and two beautiful daughters, Jillian and Hadley. Some of her favorite things to do are relax, read a good book, go to the beach/pool, shop, and spend time with family and friends. Mrs. Mayhew looks forward to each and every year of teaching, growing, and having fun with her students.
Mrs. Mundy is from South Boston, VA. She received her bachelor’s degree from Liberty University in 2010. Mrs. Mundy began her teaching journey in second grade in South Boston, VA. She has experience teaching in grades K-3. This is her tenth-year teaching. Outside of school Mrs. Mundy loves spending time with her husband Perry, two daughters (Mara and Avery), and dog (Remi). Some of Mrs. Mundy’s favorite things to do are going to the beach during summer vacation and spending time with family and friends. Mrs. Mundy is excited to teach second grade at Tomahawk and is ready for a great year!
Mrs. Glass is a WV native, having graduated from Bluefield State College with a degree in English and Child Psychology. This is her 6 year in public education and her 1st to join the Tomahawk Family. Mrs. Glass moved to Lynchburg when she married her husband Chris 22 years ago. Together they have 3 amazing children, Landen, Greyson and Rachel. She loves to read, having two favorite places to do so - the beach or her couch! Living on a farm lets her have lots of cool animals around, including a duck and some chickens! Fun Fact: Mrs. Glass has danced and taught dance for over 40 years and continues to do so! 2nd grade is the BEST grade!
Ms. Stanley was born and raised in Lynchburg, VA. She went through Tomahawk Elementary and Brookville Middle and High School. She graduated from Longwood University with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. This is her first year teaching. She is also helping coach the Brookville B-Team volleyball team. Ms. Stanley is so excited to teach 2nd grade this year!
