Welcome to 5th Grade!
Mrs. Caldwell can hardly believe she has been teaching thirty-six years. What's really amazing is thirty-five of them have been right here at Tomahawk Elementary School. She grew up in Lynchburg however, she was born in Massachusetts. Timberlake and Lynchburg are very special to her as she is a graduate of Brookville High and Lynchburg College/University of Lynchburg. Her life is full when she is surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoys life by taking it one day at a time, you can often find her zentangling, "playing" with her collection of fountain pens and inks, or just relaxing with a good book. Her true companion is her Yorkie, Piper.
Mrs. Jensen is originally from Kentucky. She moved to Virginia to attend Liberty University where she received her undergraduate degree. She also received her masters degree in Educational Leadership from University of Lynchburg. She taught in Amherst County for her first 8 years and joined the TES team 22 years ago. She has been married to her husband, Jeff, for 32 years and has two grown boys and a daughter-in-law which she is very proud of. She enjoys reading, riding bikes, and spending time with her family. Let's go year 30!!!
Mrs. Creasey loves to recall the childhood memories she has of growing up in Southwest Virginia. Graduating from Lynchburg College, she came to Tomahawk Elementary as a kindergarten teacher. Although her kindergarten students will always have a special place in her heart, she loves teaching 5th grade and works passionately to pass her enthusiasm for learning on to her students. She looks forward to hosting family lunch after church each Sunday. Family time is Mrs. Creasey's favorite time! Mrs. Creasey and her husband enjoy spending time together biking on area trails and relaxing with a cup of Joe Bean's coffee.
Mrs. DeTroye is entering her 3rd year at Tomahawk Elementary. She completed student teaching at Tomahawk in the fall of 2018, and began teaching 5th grade in the spring of 2019. She absolutely loves teaching 5th grade and getting to know her students! Mrs. DeTroye is originally from North Carolina. She moved to Virginia to attend Liberty University, where she received her graduate degree in education. Mrs. DeTroye was recently married to her husband Matt (you may remember her as Miss Robbins!). She is very thankful for her family, and enjoys spending time with them regularly. When she isn’t with her family, Mrs. DeTroye enjoys playing volleyball, reading, and traveling. She is an avid Packers fan and loves football. She is looking forward to a great year with her students!
